Situated on three acres of old maple, cottonwood and mulberry trees, across from a horse pasture and brushing against Pack Creek, Moab's only Waldorf-based preschool provides an oasis for childhood, and a bridge from home to school.

Founded by Tiger Keogh, a K-12 Waldorf-certified teacher originally from Moab, Sego Lily Children's Garden aims to nurture each child's innate curiosity and reverence for nature. The child's relationship to the natural world is honored through song and story, following the rhythm of each day and celebrating each season.

At Sego Lily, we strive to surround each child with beauty and simplicity, an ideal environment for learning. The day unfolds from free play to snack time, followed by activities such as watercolor painting and hiking adventures. Ultimately it is the warm and safe environment created by a loving teacher that sets the tone and nourishes the children.

Family life is also nurtured at Sego Lily with opportunities to build community throughout the year, at seasonal celebrations, and our annual camp out in the La Sals.

From An Introduction to Waldorf Eduction:

Developed by Rudolf Steiner in 1919, Waldorf Education is based on a profound understanding of human development that addresses the needs of the growing child. Waldorf teachers strive to transform education into an art that educates the whole child—the heart and the hands, as well as the head.
